Mason jars and winkles

I went to the Newbury antique and collectors fair the other day which I found via this website and I was in heaven!

So much stuff, chairs, tables, cupboards, bits, bobs and so much amazing, rustic cheap stuff. My slight addiction to antique shopping has fo sho got me thinking that my home will be decked out in antique rather than Ikea. So my first find were these fabulous pieces....

I got these two turquoise mason jars which at the moment I have no idea what to use them for but I know that when I get my own house and kitchen they would look amazing as coffee and sugar jars etc and now from working in a colourful kitchenware shop I always get people coming in and buying colours to match their kitchen which got me thinking which colour I want (when I finally get my own home) and I have decided it will be turquoise so these beauties will fit perfectly.

or I found these pictures on the internet somehow somewhere and I thought they both looked kind of cool and a nice different way on using pretty jars and a way cooler and more original idea than coffee and sugar holders (especially since i don't drink coffee!) Might just have to find more jars now.

I also stumbled upon a man who was serious hot property at this antique fair, all of his stuff was selling out so quick and non stop so I of course jumped on the band wagon .... and so worth it!

This is the larger version of the boxes we bought which we have put in our kitchen and looks so good as a windowsill herb holder. It was an old crab collecting box which is nice and worn and rustic. I got a slightly smaller one but looks exactly the same and again like the jars I have no clue yet what to use it for, maybe my make-up or my arty things.
My box also brought the child out of me a little because on the sides they all had different types of fish on them such as crabs, lobster, shrimp, mussels etc.

I went for winkles. Just because it's funny!

Rustic love

In my few tiny little minutes spent browsing the internet today scouring home design websites and photos I was struck by a sudden moment of inspiration and had to rush home to quickly create and take some photos will my enthusiasm was still high!

I like how it looks on my blog background; a little rough and rustic.

Supermoon!

So following all the media razz-matazz about the 'Supermoon' at the moment which, for those of you who don't know, ''In short, Earth, Moon and Sun are all in a line, with the Moon in its nearest approach to Earth and appears brighter and larger in the sky''

It officially happened on Saturday night March 19th but I went on the hunt for it last night.

I used my Canon but the lense doesn't let me zoom in loads so this first photo is the original that I took........

Then I just uploaded it onto Picasa, cropped it up and changed the saturation and tuning and ended up with this.........

And if you fancy going out and giving the Supermoon a go..... you'll have to wait a little while. The next one isn't supposed to be until November 14 2016!! But any kind of moon will work. Give it a go!

Philly blue eyes

In a moment of madness and with a weakness for getting arty and creative I have agreed to bind myself into a big task. My soul isn't yet sold to the devil but by the end of the next 2 weeks he will probably have my name printed in blood............. eww.

But because my generosity is all in aid of this fabulous leggy blonde.....

..................Best friend since age 4, then I don't mind quite so much.

What is this big task I hear you say.

Simple.

Turn this rectangluar peachy canvas.....

.....into this.....

It's pretty sizeable let me tell you and not an easy task, particularly because my 'studio' consists of my bedroom floor and I have developed a habit of spilling the painty water all over my carpet like a 5 year old. Bummer.
Thank you for your well wishes, much appreciated. The final master piece will be unveiled asap.

But rest easy knowing that this Van Gogh sure ain't gonna be chopping off her ear in a moment of madness. Phew!

Ta-Daaaa

So I have now painted my frame and I'm not afraid to say I have a bit of a crush on an inanimate object.

Thank you beautiful friends who all voted for their favourite... including those who wanted it to stay white. NO! That was not an option!!

Drum roll please.....

Well done everyone who voted turquoise, you have great taste!

Now the next step is deciding what to do on the inside and after a long hard think and lots of long hard looks over the bloggersphere I have decided that it will either become.....

Exhibit A. A black chalkboard

You know, obviously without the whole 'I <3 storage' thing going on. Although I'm not adverse to a bit of storage loving (which by the by is going for a cool £75 from Heals) Or... Exhibit B. Some bright print/clashing fabric to make it into a pinboard, a few fabrics that I like.....

Sadly my Photoshop skills failed me this time, I know lots of you complimeted me on the last show of skill on the colour swatch idea (confused smiley) so you will have to use that imagination of yours.
But if I go with the fabric idea I will get enough to match it up and put it in this bad boy.....

So that it looks like this even badder boy.....

YUM!

Now off to Facebook with you and let me know your favourite

Fancy framing

Oh and for those of you who voted for your favourite frame colour..... I am half way through the final product. Stay tuned

Beach baby!

I love the beach. Any beach anywhere... I love them. One day I want to live right on the beach somewhere in the world. Like open the french doors and be able to step out into a garden that backs onto the beach kind of living.

Over the weekend me and sister Bee took a trip down to Sandbanks in Poole for a little wander...... We didn't pick the best day ever.....

Then I got a little snap happy. I LOVE my camera! Enjoy

Now let me show you this GREAT house that we saw right on the beach, if ever I was to fall in love with the outside of a house this is it!

And it was ten times better with this beauty parked outside.....

I'm just off to find my rich house-funding husband.
Nahhh, just kidding.

Kind of.
