I love my home inspiration #1

Here's a little round-up of Interiors that are inspiring me right now. . . . .

Boxes as shelving, bubble lights, dark walls

Coloured wire lights. . . . great bulbs too

Bright colour against dark walls

The lights, giant art and that bath!

Dark walls, wood floor, exposed brick and colour *pops*

Giant mirror, neutral colours, romantic materials and chandelier

That peace sign... Hello! I have to have one of those.

Exposed wooden beams, amazing architecture

Great way to display photos and postcards, keeping it simple and clutter free

Man crush

I don't often fall for guys. I've been single for . . . . . a while now (no comment!)
I'm very VERY picky with men which is always a real debate amongst friends.

Is it better to be with a guy, have fun, have free dinners and drinks on him- cos let's be honest that's how it works for the first few dates, and how it shall remain forever- he's not perfect but he's ok, it's nice to have a boyfriend but you don't see a future with him type
Or do you stick with your real picky vibes and refuse to settle for any man less than a *Super-amazing-sexy-charming-fucking hilarious-rainbow-sparkle-God*?

This is where I'm at. I'm totally team *He rocks my world-makes me pee my pants laughing-ultimate sex god-can surf and play the guitar-and takes me for Friday night cocktails-piece of hot* I'm not gonna settle.

But I will settle for my man crush. He's a 30-something, trilby wearing, rugged American by the name of Joshua Radin.
He has been the one for a couple of years now and I wanted to share the love with you.

Oh yeah, you just go ahead and smoulder on that carousel Joshua.

My favourite song of his is 'You got what I need'- you may find it a little too mellowed out but it's great. His new album is out end of July and then he'll be back on tour baby!

'You got what I need'- What do you think?

'Underwater' from his new album. . . . . 'Underwater'

His music is pretty mellow, folksy, acoustic guitar, chilled out, husky voiced tuneage which I love! He's the type of guy that Instagram was made for- all rustic, nostalgic and makes a Starbucks coffee cup look like the coolest shit ever.

Instagram should hire this dude asap- You see he's all black and white scooter, sepia shadows in the sun, moody Colloseum clouds, type of a guy.

These photos are all from Joshua's Twitter so don't get all copywrite on me ok.

He's definitely the type of guy you'd want to wander around Europe with, eating gelatto and getting matching tattoos.

I've seen him live twice in London- the first time dragged my sister as my date, the second time she wasn't so reluctant and next time she'll bloody love it!
The last time we went was October 2011. I was feeling pretty eager, like I LOVE this dude, and he had his nipples on show through his top all night so I had to stick around to get a close-up view.
We got all super-eager-groupie on his ass and waited by the stage door for about an hour- sister was surprisingly willing!
I got that excited nervous feeling you get when you see/meet a proper celeb like Suri Cruise or Romeo Beckham- then I saw his nipples walking towards me.

We autographed, we photographed, he told my sister, Charlie, that his bassist had written a song about a girl he didn't know called Charlie. . . . . .and maybe she was her! (It clearly isn't.)
I promised to follow it up and get her hooked up with him. I googled. . . . . He's no Joshua Radin.

Can almost see his nips.

Oh. And he also follows me on Twitter. No biggie. (And so should you- You love me? Tweet me! Or you now love Joshua becuase of me? Tweet me! And then tweet him I guess, I'm sure he'd love it! @phillybrod)

(I may do my next post on my girl crushes but I fear a bit of backlash. Not sure how you'll feel about my mixed bag of lovelies)

I'm faking it and it's fine

I want a little honesty here. What is your sad/lame/embarrassing addiction?
I feel like I've admitted way too many times about my love for Pinterest, blogs, looking at pictures of food that I just shouldn't be eating, clothes I couldn't pull off and houses I couldn't afford.

How do you waste all of your hours when you're at work?  I mean. In your spare hours at home, miles and miles away from your place of work where you never access anything un work related.

Do you maybe collect hair?
Hair museum of Avanos anyone? Didn't think so.

Make clothes out of sweet wrappers like this 'cool' chick? Starburst anyone?

Or maybe you groom dogs to look like other animals?
The panda-dogs are too much!

Although my obsessions with the makeover of a table lamp or the makings of a triple-chocolate-marshmallow-cream-pastry-whipped-mousse-pie-cake may be slightly out of control at times it has all helped me to realise that what I really want is a super amazingly styled and designed house that I have created and made to look fucking awesome. Which require moneys. Which requires me to work. Which I do, I do work, just not very much, not as much as I would like to without having to do crap jobs that I hate. I'm not entirely convinced that for me right now it would be right to do a job that I massively hate just for the money. . . . there has to be a limit in life where your happiness really has to come first. Deep.

So with this mad desire to own my first house (optimistic), apartment, flat etc I've got myself very pumped up and on a mad one with job hunting. I'm signing myself up to as many recruitment agencies in London as possible as well as constantly applying for jobs myself. It's hard and long (that's what she said) but I'm hoping one of these agencies will help things not to be so hard (she never said that. Ever) - and find a job for me!

It has also meant that I went to an actual real hairdressers for the first time in about 5years to get my hair cut properly instead of sitting in front of my mirror at home with a pair of material scissors and a pair of nail scissors. My hair-cutting skills are actually great, I don't want you getting the impression I'm all Edward Scissorhands.

And it also meant that sadly I have had to shop. Oh no!
Shopping for work wear isn't the most inspiring and interesting thing in the world but I did a major scan of fashion and got a load of inspiration (guess which website) so that I had a good idea of all the clothes I wanted to copy and got quite excited about it.

I invested in a bit of a capsule work wardrobe, a few shirts, a couple of blazers, a black, red and beige pair of trousers, a few colourful jumpers and a smart black bag.
I just fear that everyone will know that I don't normally wear any of this- it's clearly new and I clearly get away with wearing converse, jeans and an old cricket jumper to work everyday at the moment but it is kind of nice to get to wear smarter clothes- and it totally suits me anyway! Obviously. ;)

Although let me just go double check all the labels are cut off.

All I need now is the job!

Red trousers! Yes

Red blazer. Win

Tailored and casual mix

Calm colours- smart/casual

A sexy/classy take on what I think a lot of women do badly with a plain black suit

More red. Always good to catch the eye of the office hotty! Waheey you go girlfriend.

Green trousers. Why not

Awkward if I have to wear a uniform.

Not real candy (sadface) but gold candy (happyface)

So I'm back again from not blogging because i've been. . . . doing nothing. Well, apart from consuming so many crushes for houses, clothes, jewellery, food and people over the internet- Pinterest and blogs are my inspiration addiction- that I am desperately seeking Mr Millionaire to fund my expense.

I mean look at this house featured on Desire to Inspire and tell me you wouldn't want to live there- even if you don't fall in love with it at least fall in love with that dreamy Australian weather. Get me away from this English "Summer" ASAP. This isn't even weather this is just lame. . . . . lamether.

So to get back to what I was getting at - I like to think I'm a little on the fashion savvy side of things especially after lusting after/copying/stealing so many women's styles on the internet.

I clearly always knew how to accessorise and block colour (home video screen-grab I thank you).

I probably have to thank this mysterious guy for my fondness of the crazy accessories. . . . he was quite the inspiration. I mean who hasn't worn a visor with a Batman mask?
Thanks Brother Bee!
(Pretty glad he's grown out of that now actually as I'm not so convinced he'd be as cute. . . I fear he'd be way into gimp masks and shit now. Which he's not. He's NOT. . . . . that I know of)

But mostly recently my lust has been for a gold watch.

Let me just say here that I hated gold jewellery for SO long until recently. I kind of saw it as nouveau rich 70 year old botched botox bling lady jewellery but now my opinions have changed. . . I also hated pizza and rice until I was about 12 but you'll be happy to know that I have warmly welcomed those bad boy carbs into my life-thighs aren't as happy, but the gold watch is always a winner in 2012.

So I scoured for a while for a sexy, kind of manish gold watch- I kind of dig the manish watch look- and with my fabulous bargain hunter/cheapskate style I scored a beauty from River Island. I would love to be getting all involved with a Michael Kors who is kind of the ruler of the gold watch right now but I like to let the normal people know that it's ok to go highstreet with this!! Ain't nothing wrong with faking the gold ;)

So here is a roundup of some sexy watches 'in situ', rolling the ARM CANDY or ARM PARTY look and making it the perfect accessory for 2012. . . . . Get involved girlfriend!

I am also totally involved in the 'Arty' rings by Yves Saint Laurent right now -  as featured in exhibit 4 in turquoise. LOVE!
So I am definitely getting myself a cheap job one of those- sorry if I don't want to spend £200 on the ligit one! But which colour to choose. . . . . Have you got any preferences?

I think I like the royal blue, or the light dusty pink.
