Outside dreaming

I'm feeling dreamy at the moment for those long late warm summer nights with lanterns in the trees and sunny garden fun. . . . .

I went at the beginning of Summer to a local outdoor cinema. It was in a beautiful park right next to the river Thames on one side and an old church on the other. You could either sit on deckchairs or on some giant beanbags, buy some beer or wine, crack open the popcorn and enjoy the evening!
It took a little while for the sun to go down- when you discover that YES you should have brought a bigger jumper. We watched The Artist which was really great- for the rest of the summer they showed mostly old school movies like The Goonies, Back to the Future and Dirty Dancing so I may have to head back with a hoodie next time!

It did get me thinking though how much fun it would be to do something similar in your own garden. Get some friends round, make some popcorn, get some lanterns out and either use a big screen or just wheel the TV into the garden! I'm pretty down for the idea. You know, next Summer. If it happens.

DIY garden movie evening

Dreamy garden dinner for two!
Dreamy garden evening dinner for everyone!

This got me looking for some more amazing garden/ outdoors area inspiration and I found some GREAT ideas!

Build your own GIANT adult tree house from reclaimed wood. No kids allowed.

Go a little crazy with your hammock/garden swing placement

Make a crappy placed tree into a garden feature

Create a moss grafitti wall! This is a Pinterest classic so if you wanted the recipe for the mix I'm sure you could find it there.

Or make an AMAZING grassy sofa! And pose with earthy flower in hand. This has winner written all over it.

 Dream big!

Kite surfing the Alps, base-jumping off a U-haul and jelly wrestling with a tiger. I've done them all bar 3.

Let me know if this video doesn't make you want to see more, and do more.... and be more.

To start off with I'm gonna go base jumping this weekend. Or just jump off a 3ft high wall or something.

How will you up the stakes?

For fuck's sake Hugo, stick to your side

All I ask is that you don't judge my sense of humour if you think these suck! But I thought they were pretty funny and would definitely cheer up any tube ride I had to take.

Sometimes you get the occasional people who really step up on the underground and make things a little happier in the depths of 'sweaty-stuck-in-someone's-armpit-and-someone-else-listening-to-George-Michael-too-loudly-on-their-Ipod-hell'. Like a Jamaican man last week on my journey sending the trains on their way with some positive messages that it is Thursday, therefore nearly Friday and therefore nearly time to party and time to have fun. He sent the driver on his way with an (Read this in Jamaican accent). . . . . . . 'Eaaaassssssssssyyyyy now driver'

Red signalled. I'm gonna use that one.

This has gotta be the best one. Also applies to Felix, Arabella, Henrietta, Spencer, Hugh, Astrid, Freddie, Archie, Tallulah, Theo.... and probably Philippa!
