''iPhone Photography Awards™ (IPPAWARDS) is the first and the longest running iPhone photography competition since 2007. IPPAWARDS has been celebrating the creativity of the iPhone users since the first iPhone has inspired, excited and engaged the users worldwide. Since then every year, IPPAWARDS has selected the best shots among thousands of images submitted by iPhone photographers from 38 countries around the world. Unfortunately it seems that you have to pay per image that you enter- I guess they have to fund their 16 prize winning gold bars from somewhere.
If you've taken a look through the previous year's entries you'll notice that the first couple of years are pretty crummy. The standards have definitely been raised but I'm confident that after a year of taking photos on my phone will result in at least one that should be entry-worthy.
The deadline to enter for the next awards is March 31st 2014 so we have a while to get creative!

''All photographers compete for the 3 IPPAWARDS Photographers of the Year. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
All images must be taken with an iPhone or an iPod. The photos should not be altered in Photoshop or any desktop image processing program.
The use of any iPhone Apps is permissible. In some cases we may ask the original image to verify that it’s taken with an iPhone, iPad or iPod.
Prizes
3 iPad Minis
All entries compete for the prestigious IPPA Photographer of the Year Award title, and the top 3 will receive a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad Mini.
16 Gold Bars
The top entry from each of the 16 IPPA categories will win a Gold Bar from the most recognizable private gold mint in the world.
The work of the top winner and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Winners on each category will be publicized on IPPAWARDS online gallery and any published IPPAWARDS materials.
Certificates in all Categories
All 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners from each categories will receive a IPPAWARDS certificate.
Honorable Mentions
IPPAWARDS judges will award several Certificates of Honorable Mention to entries to acknowledge talent as they deem fit.
Judging Criteria
Members of the Jury will review all entries and judge images on the basis of artistic merit, originality, subject, and style and ultimately decide the winners.
Return of the Entries
Entries will not be returned. Only winning entries will be kept on file for promotional purposes. IPPAWARDS will not be responsible for any damaged or lost submissions.
Use of images
Copyright and all other rights remain that of the photographer. Any photograph used by IPPAWARDS shall carry the photographer’s credit line. Use may include publication in any IPPAWARDS media sponsor publication. All entrants understand that any image submitted to the competition may be used by IPPAWARDS for marketing and promotional purposes including in any media such as exhibitions, print and digital media directly related to the IPPAWARDS competition.
Winner Notification
All winners will be announced online eight to twelve weeks after the final submission deadline.
